Well the big event of 2011 has come and gone and we all, I’m sure, celebrated in our own way – whether it be at home in front of the television, in London watching for real, or like thousands of people, in the streets, in which over 2000 parties were thrown up and down the UK with bunting hanging proudly in windows and Victoria Sponge cake laid out on beautifully arranged tables good old-fashioned British style.
I decided to stay close to home and focus on the regular Jo-Public, in Fulham.
A huge street party took place at the Sands End Pub, a regular drinking spot to both Princes William and Harry through their friendship with Mark Dyer, the pub’s Landlord and close ally of Prince Charles. Mr Dyer accompanied the Princes on their Gap year abroad some years ago so have remained firm friends.
I thought covering the events at this particular pub made sense with the Royal link, but also would make an interesting and fun set of pictures for the UK press – and sure enough I was fortunate enough to have a few of them feature.
